// How to play

Break it, then guess it.

  • The word and a clue are encrypted with the same cipher and key.
  • Use the workbench to try keys — both lines decrypt as you type.
  • Guess the word: green = right spot, yellow = in the word, grey = not in it.
  • Every green is known plaintext: compare it with the ciphertext letter to recover part of the key.
  • The week ramps up: Caesar (Mon–Tue) → Vigenère (Wed–Thu) → substitution (Fri) → XOR (Sat) → a mystery cipher (Sun).
